Dr. Keith Rasmussen joined Vance Thompson Vision in July of 2004 after spending the previous year with Eye Care Associates of Nevada in Reno,  NV. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association, the South Dakota Optometric Society and the Nevada Optometric Physicians Association. Dr. Rasmussen graduated with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR., in 2003. He split the 2002-2003 school year between Tyndall Air Force Base Hospital in Tyndall, FL., and the Salt Lake City Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah., after spending May through August of 2002 at the Applewood Vision Clinic in Denver, CO. He was also active in the community during these years, contributing his time and talents to such organizations as the Oregon School for the blind and the Child Services Department in Portland, OR. He completed a study entitled “An Epidemiological Overview of Pediatric Visual Impairment in the State of Oregon” over the course of 2001 and 2002.

A native of Sioux Falls, SD, Dr. Rasmussen is a 1999 graduate of Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, where he was a four-year letter-winner on the men’s basketball team, receiving NAIA Academic All-American recognition in 1998 and 1999.
