Dr. Vance Thompson, MD: As a leading international researcher, Vance Thompson has played a key role in the development of the most advanced technologies and techniques for both laser and implant vision correction. Thompson was involved in the initial clinical trials for LASIK surgery, and since then, has been a part of the research and development of numerous other technologies, including implantable contact lenses, corneal crosslinking and the newly approved corneal inlay. He has served as the medical monitor lead or principal investigator in 54 FDA monitored clinical trials studying laser and implant surgery.
Dr. John Berdahl, MD: Dr. Berdahl graduated from Mayo Medical School, and then he attended Duke University for residency training in Ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship at Minnesota Eye Consultants, and he has been with Vance Thompson Vision since 2009. Dr. Berdahl specializes in Advanced Cataract Surgery, Corneal Surgery and Glaucoma Surgery, in addition to Refractive Surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Berdahl has published many book chapters, articles and publications discussing ophthalmology. He has been the principal investigator, co-investigator, or sub-investigator in 15 clinical trials.
