Gift of Sight Recipients Chosen
It wasn't easy, but after reading through hundreds of letters, the staff at Vance Thompson Vision chose four people to receive the gift of sight.
This is the second year Vance Thompson Vision has asked for nominations to give four people laser vision correction surgery.
It's a procedure that can cost thousands of dollars, but the doctors and staff at the clinic are donating their time so the deserving recipients can have this gift of sight at absolutely no charge.
Lori Visker was one of the many who sent in a letter. She nominated her husband of two years because of the way he's changed her life and the life of her daughters.
“I just started bawling. I just couldn't believe it. I was so happy for my husband because he is such a wonderful person that I was just so happy that he was given this gift and they had chosen him because of our letters," Lori Visker said.
"For 23 years, I've been wearing glasses and contacts so it's going to be, it's going to be a different world," Brad Visker said.
Brad is scheduled to have the vision correction surgery next week.
The day the Viskers found out Brad had been chosen for the procedure, they also learned they were expecting a baby.

Premium Lens Implants
The LASIK procedure is the right answer for most patients who are considering refractive surgery to improve their vision. However, in patients with higher degrees of nearsightedness or farsightedness, the cornea may be too thin to allow full refractive correction.
In these cases, surgical implants may be the best alternative. These special devices are placed in the eyes to improve their focusing ability.
