Combining your eyelid surgery with laser skin resurfacing not only saves you an appointment, but also recovery time, since recovery happens simultaneously for both surgical and laser procedures. Laser skin rejuvenation tightens skin and reduces wrinkles in the delicate eye area.

Alongside addressing the eye area, laser treatment can minimize wrinkles and fine lines on the full face, giving you a lifted, firmer look to match the eye area following surgery. After consulting with our team, we recommended deep laser resurfacing, blepharoplasty, and brow lift. All three of these services were done during one appointment. Downtime for a combination procedure like hers that is done in the OR can last up to 1 week, with 3-8 weeks of visible redness. This patient also received lip and cheek filler in our clinic.

What to Expect

Following laser treatment, your skin will look and feel as though you’ve had a sunburn. You may experience swelling, feel hot or experience slight pinpoint bleeding. The day after your procedure, old skin will begin to fall away, and you may experience an itching sensation. Signs of healing will appear after a couple of days, but may take one to two weeks to fully resolve with some redness remaining for 1-3 months. Your doctor will suggest topical healing agents to keep your skin moist during the healing process.

Is this procedure comfortable?

Many patients compare laser skin resurfacing to the feeling of warm pin prickles. This very mild discomfort often only occurs during the initial stages of the procedure while the skin gets used to the feeling of the treatment. Discomfort varies depending on how deep the procedure is and individual pain tolerance.

What does healing look like?

About a week of down is typical after laser skin resurfacing. You may experience pinkness in your skin for 1-3 months after your procedure.

How do I take care of my skin afterwards?

Keeping skin clean and moisturized is important following your procedures. Your provider will recommend topical healing agents for moisture.

When is the best time to get laser resurfacing?

After laser resurfacing procedures, limited sun exposure is recommended for at least 6 months. This does not mean you need to stay out of the sun completely, but wearing a hat or zinc oxide sunscreen are important to protect skin and help maintain your new refreshed glow.

When will I see full results? How long will they last?

Smoothing will be seen as soon as the first week after your procedure, with improvement continuing for the first year. Many patients experience tightening results for up to 5 years. A BBL or MOXI helps to maintain results and keep you looking and feeling your best.
