Allison Lewandowski, OD

Meet Dr. Lewandowski

Dr. Lewandowski knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare while completing her undergraduate studies. A meaningful act of compassion from her longtime family optometrist during a difficult time inspired the kind of care she now strives to provide for her own patients.

Her approach centers on building strong relationships and explaining information in a clear, approachable way. Dr. Lewandowski wants patients to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in the care they receive.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the College of Saint Benedict and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Arizona College of Optometry. Her clinical training included medical eye care, ocular disease, and primary eye care before joining Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls for her ocular disease residency.

Interests & Added Expertise

After experiencing implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery herself, Dr. Lewandowski understands firsthand the life-changing impact refractive surgery can have for patients with high prescriptions. That personal experience has strengthened her interest in refractive surgery and expanding technologies that make vision correction possible for more patients.

Personal & Hobbies

Dr. Lewandowski was born in Sioux Falls and grew up in North Mankato, Minnesota, making her return to the Midwest feel like coming home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new places, relaxing at her family’s cabin in northern Minnesota, and watching reality TV.
