Meet Dr. Terveen

Dr. Daniel Terveen is a fellowship-trained eye surgeon who specializes in refractive cataract surgery, advanced corneal disease treatments, glaucoma care, and laser vision correction. Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Terveen has established a reputation of excellence that he carries into every interaction with patients.

Interests & Added Expertise

Dr. Terveen has always been drawn to solving complex problems, which is how he has gained particular skill in caring for patients with the most challenging cornea, glaucoma, and cataract troubles.

He is also a dedicated advocate for improvements in care for all patients. While completing his ophthalmology training at the University of Iowa, he won the Lisa and Amir Arbisser Top Resident Award and worked to enhance the quality of eye surgery at the Iowa City Veterans Administration Hospital.

Prioritizing Research

Dr. Terveen is passionate about improving patient care. During residency he initiated and led implementation of the Immediate Sequential Bilateral Cataract Surgery Program at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Iowa City, IA. This effort and others earned him the prestigious P.J. Leinfelder Award for Excellence in Research. He has carried this passion and expertise into his practice at Vance Thompson Vision. He serves as a principal investigator for FDA-monitored clinical trials and has published and presented numerous research projects and book chapters about topics including complicated cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and efficiency in clinic processes.

I have always seen Tim with North Central Eye and was nervous going anywhere else. I would 100% recommend Dr Terveen and his staff was completely amazing. Felt like family!! The lady that took my vitals made sure I was completely comfortable before heading in.. Do your self a favor don't watch anything online that Vance don't send you make your self all freaked out!

Simply wonderful experience. I cannot express enough thanks to Dr Debbie and the entire staff at Alexandria's Vance Thompson. Everyone was very professional and caring. A family member needed a little more than the usual help with his eyes and Dr. Debbie went above and beyond. The outcome was amazing. Highly highly recommend.
