Meet Dr. Mechels

Dr. Mechels’ passion for helping people began at an early age, inspired by stories from his mother, who was a pediatric ICU nurse. Following a similar path, he started his career as a nursing assistant. This role cemented his passion for providing the highest level of care to patients at their most vulnerable moments.

In his downtime, you can find Keegan cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and maintaining an active lifestyle at the gym. He enjoys being outdoors in all seasons — snowboarding in the winter and swimming at the lake in summer. He enjoys cooking, and is in relentless pursuit of the perfect pancake recipe. He also prides himself on his homemade apple pie.

Fast and efficient as always. Dr. Mechels was very helpful and forthcoming with information about the procedure I will be having. Staff from check-in until Aimee escorted me out was super. I especially thank Morgan for her care during the testing and her knowledge on Hoka's. I went right out and bought a pair! Thanks for another great experience at Vance Thompson. ;-)
