Meet Dr. Mechels

Dr. Mechels’ passion for helping people began at an early age, inspired by stories from his mother, who was a pediatric ICU nurse. Following a similar path, he started his career as a nursing assistant. This role cemented his passion for providing the highest level of care to patients at their most vulnerable moments.

Interests & Added Expertise

As a fellowship-trained oculoplastics surgeon, Dr. Mechels performs the most advanced techniques in oculoplastic surgery.  He is a leader in the industry and brings his expertise to the Omaha community, where he is honored to provide world-class oculoplastics treatment for patients.

Personal & Hobbies

In his downtime, you can find Keegan cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and maintaining an active lifestyle at the gym. He enjoys being outdoors in all seasons — snowboarding in the winter and swimming at the lake in summer. He enjoys cooking, and is in relentless pursuit of the perfect pancake recipe. He also prides himself on his homemade apple pie.
